Capsule wardrobe picks perfect for Spring
Over the last couple of years, Iβve been focusing on building a capsule wardrobe so that I can invest in statement pieces that come in for a variety of seasons and occasions. Not only is it much better for the environment, but investing in higher quality pieces means that they last so much longer instead of having to replace things in your wardrobe year after year. Despite how characterful my home is, I have quite a simple taste when it comes to clothes and I love having really versatile pieces so that itβs easy to dress for the day.
A STAPLE PAIR OF JEANS
I donβt know about you, but the struggle to find the perfect jeans is real! It took me until I turned 30, but I invested in my first pair of Leviβs last year and Iβve worn them to death. For Spring, I knew Leviβs Ribcage Wide Leg Jeans would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe. Iβm really loving a wide leg jean at the moment and have struggled to find the right high waist pair to suit my wide hips and short frame β but these are a dream! Iβm 5β2 and have them in a L30 and they are the perfect length. Jeans are such a staple piece in a wardrobe, and come in useful when you want to look nice, but the weather isnβt quite warm enough for shorts and dresses. I know I will get so much wear out of these all year round, too.
COMFY, AIRY TRAINERS
Last Spring/Summer, I lived in my New Balance 530βs, they are literally the comfiest trainers I have ever worn and designed as a running trainer, I love how light and airy they are. Theyβre a staple for the warmer seasons as theyβre super casual and can be worn with absolutely anything, plus they keep your feet lovely and cool. Iβve got a couple of holidays coming up, so I picked out the New Balance 530 Leopard Print Trainers as I know they will look super cute with all my Spring/Summer outfits, as well as be nice and comfy whilst exploring Europe.
TOPS TO SUIT ALL WEATHER
You never know what kind of weather youβre going to get during Spring, so a couple of staple tops that can be layered are absolutely essential. I added the Mint Velvet Scallop Trim Vest in Khaki and the V by Very Everyday Long Sleeve Striped Rib T-Shirt to my wardrobe as I think these are really great pieces. When the days are a bit warmer, or Iβm just at home, the khaki scallop vest is a gorgeous choice and looks really lovely with jeans, as well as shorts. When the weather is a bit cooler, or thereβs a breeze, the striped long sleeve number is a lovely pick to layer up or wear on itβs own. You can rarely go wrong with khaki or stripes β both are beautiful!
And for those days when your outfit needs a sporty edge and youβre a big football fan, you can get mystery football shirts which is a subscription service, where fans receive surprise authentic jerseys from clubs around the world. Itβs a really fun and unique way to layer casual looks with a retro twist!
A HIGH QUALITY JACKET
To finish off my Spring capsule wardrobe picks, it has to include a high quality jacket. Iβm actually really fussy when it comes to jackets as I struggle to find a piece that goes with everything, as well as keeps the cold off. I think investing in higher quality coats and jackets is essential, as they get so much more wear when they actually keep you nice and warm. I love the Tommy Jeans Cropped Trench Coat in Beige which I picked out as itβs such a lovely neutral shade that I know it will go with everything in my wardrobe. I wore it out for the first time last week and whilst it was a sunny Spring day, there was a windy breeze and it kept me really warm. I canβt wait to get more wear out of this one, itβs so gorgeous.
Do you have any Spring capsule wardrobe picks that you couldnβt be without?
